Robotica Educatie Bornego<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REborn was a structured approach to robotics and STEAM education within a secondary school context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was developed to move beyond isolated robotics projects and create a sustainable, multi-year learning ecosystem<\/strong> around technology, creativity, and collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the start, REborn was designed with one core principle in mind:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

robotics education should outgrow individuals<\/strong> and remain strong through structure, community, and knowledge transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Why REborn was created<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Robotics initiatives in schools often rely on individual enthusiasm and short-term effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REborn was created to address this vulnerability by embedding robotics education into a broader, coherent structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program aimed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • ensure continuity across school years<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • connect technical learning with communication and reflection<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • create a clear development pathway for students<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • train and prepare multiple coaches instead of relying on one<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    REborn treated robotics not as an extracurricular activity, but as a learning community<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A progressive competition pathway<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    A defining feature of REborn was the intentional integration of three international robotics competitions<\/strong> into one coherent learning line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    FIRST LEGO League (FLL)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    FIRST LEGO League formed the entry point within REborn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Students were introduced to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • robotics and programming fundamentals<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • research and innovation projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • teamwork and FIRST Core Values<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • presentation and communication<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      FLL provided a safe and structured environment where curiosity, confidence, and collaboration could grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Engineering depth & responsibility<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      For students seeking deeper technical challenges, REborn offered progression into FIRST Tech Challenge for a continuous learning pathway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      FTC introduced:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • advanced engineering challenges<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • larger, custom-built robots<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • increased responsibility within teams<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • mentoring roles toward younger students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        This strengthened both technical development and community continuity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        World Robot Olympiad (WRO)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        Applied robotics & real-world context<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        World Robot Olympiad added a complementary dimension focused on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • applied robotics challenges<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • engineering efficiency<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • real-world problem contexts<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • international benchmarking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Together, FLL, FTC, and WRO formed a complete and differentiated learning pathway<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n\n\n\n

          More than robotics<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          REborn deliberately connected technology with presentation and communication<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Drawing on my background as a Drama teacher<\/strong>, students were coached in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          • presenting with confidence<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • structuring a clear and engaging story<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • teamwork on stage<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • visual and verbal communication<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            Reflection, documentation, and media awareness were embedded throughout the program, reinforcing ownership of the learning process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \n\n\n\n

            Community & continuity<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

            REborn was designed as a community<\/strong>, not a collection of teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Key elements included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            • multiple teams within the same school<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • peer learning across age groups<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • shared working moments and milestones<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • continuity across school years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

              Students gradually grew into mentoring roles, ensuring natural knowledge transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              \n\n\n\n

              From development to transfer<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

              From the outset, REborn was designed to be transferable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              After establishing the educational framework, competition pathways, and coaching philosophy, the focus shifted toward:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              • Guiding and mentoring new coaches<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • safeguarding the educational vision<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • ensuring continuity beyond my direct involvement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                REborn was subsequently successfully transferred to a newly trained group of coaches<\/strong>, who continue the program today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                \n\n\n\n

                A completed chapter<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                REborn represents a completed chapter<\/strong> within my work in robotics education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                I am no longer employed at the Bornego College<\/strong> and am no longer involved in the day-to-day execution of the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                The continued operation of REborn under new leadership demonstrates that its structure, vision, and knowledge transfer were sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                The experience gained through REborn now serves as a foundation for new initiatives within MO\u2019sFIRST<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                \n\n\n\n

                REborn within MO\u2019sFIRST<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                REborn functions as a reference project<\/strong> within MO\u2019sFIRST.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                Its methodologies \u2014 combining robotics, STEAM education, presentation skills, and community building \u2014 are now applied in new contexts, including international collaborations such as Ghindeni, Romania<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                REborn did not stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
